Hard work, including the 14% climb to Femes
and a trip to El Golfo - one of the most beautiful places of the
island!
This is a really full-day-trip and is climbing
gentle but steady in the heart of the island and then rolling down
over La Asomada to the bigger road to Playa Blanca. Here you have
a lot of traffic for some few kilometers - you should ask before
if the second section of the road through La Geria is still at work
- because if they made it already you could avoid the traffic in
following from Masdache directly to Uga and Yaiza - not going down
to La Asomada.
In Yaiza you head towards El Golfo and find
one of the most beautiful places of Lanzarote - enjoy the views. Leaving
El Golfo you follow the coastline to Playa Blanca, along the beautiful
rocks of Los Hervideros and the Salina de Janubio where there is
still salt made. On many days of the year you have on this road Fuerteventura
in sight - enjoy the view again and as the road begins to drop -
you are reaching Playa Blanca,w here you could get more water if
you need - the hardest climb is still waiting.
For "warming you up" it goes straight to the
north heading for Femes - getting steeper and steeper at the end. This
is the hardest climb of the whole island - but the scenery is breathtaking. Then
let it roll towards the climb for La Asomada - here you have again
a road with traffic but you are downhill so it will not disturb
you that much - and you are faster through. After reaching the valley
of La Geria again the rest is more relaxing - getting another highspeed-downhill
along Guime to Tahiche and finally to Costa Teguise. |
